At the helm is our director - Dr. Sudarsan Ghosh Dastidar, a man with over 30 years of experience in this subject, when there was no standardized knowledge of it in India and it was yet evolving internationally. A team of enterprising and capable doctors, laboratory, personnel, and scientists supports Dr. Ghosh Dastidar. Dr. Kakoli Ghosh Dastidar, head of the division of ultrasound and reproductive imaging, plays a leading role. She received her training in Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology from King's College Hospital, London UK. Dr. K. Ghosh Dastidar has to her credit over 25 publications in National & International journals and has authored two medical textbooks on her subject, which are the first of their kind from India, and is presently completing her third book on ultrasound. She is undoubtedly among the best in IVF surrogacy in India today. In 1998 she was awarded as the 3rd best junior scientist of India.

Our ultra-sterile labs are equipped with the latest technology in infertility management. We believe the IVF and ICSI laboratory is the bedrock of infertility treatment and conform to North American standards. Constant innovation, stringent quality control and rigorous attention to sterility ensure consistent pregnancy rates. Indeed, nothing less can be expected from a centre at the helm of which is the researcher credited with creating India’s first indigenous embryology laboratory in the early 1980s, without any government or private aid or collaboration. It is this exceptional insight which leads to the incorporation into our laboratory unique elements of structure, design and protocols and subtle adaptations which are genuinely novel and can be considered to be the GDIFR secret.
From the Director’s Desk
We believe it is the fundamental right of every couple to have a child of their own. The advent of modern ART has ensured that even the most difficult cases of infertility can be cured. It has been our pursuit for more than 20 years to bring joy and happiness to couples by the novel technique of ART. A lot of ART procedures have been developed by us over the last 20 years. It is our objective to pursue further research so as to provide an answer to all forms of unexplained infertility. Areas such as genetic factors influencing endometrial receptivity need to be further explored. Furthermore the medical community must strive to reduce the cost of IVF such that all couples can have access to ART therapy. Hopefully a day will come soon when all cases of IVF will be successful and infertility will be an obsolete term restricted to textbooks and dictionaries.
